2025 marked a pivotal year of transition for Marin Open Studios (MOS), as the organization began evolving its visual identity and operational strategy. As the lead for brand, design, and creative operations, I worked closely with the core team to lay a foundation that honors MOS's grassroots legacy while positioning it for greater regional visibility.
My Role
•Led creative direction for brand refresh, including color palette, typography, and tone of voice
•Designed and produced the 2025 Tour Guide, Benefit for Art branding, and all public-facing materials
•Curated artwork to showcase the range of Marin Open Studio artists
•Designed digital and print ads, web banners, maps, event signage, and assets for the Local Getaways app
•Built templates and systems for intake, proofing, and file delivery enabling greater efficiency
Key Contributions
Brand Identity Refresh: Introduced a cleaner, more cohesive aesthetic rooted in the legacy logo's jewel tones, paired with a bold, editorial layout style
Design Systems: Created scalable templates and defined a clear visual tone, giving MOS a more polished, professional presence across print and digital
Workflow Optimization: Shifted artist content collection to Google Forms, improving accuracy and accountability; proposed a new production timeline for 2026 to avoid crunch cycles
Community Engagement: Collaborated with director and board members to balance accessibility with high-caliber visual storytelling
Impact
•Elevated public perception of the organization and its flagship open studios event
•Built internal systems to improve coordination, reduce overwhelm, and scale for future growth
•Set the stage for more strategic, streamlined creative operations in 2026
